Rochester City Council, At Large Position Democratic Primary - Bill Pritchard (Incumbent)

Bill Pritchard, an openly gay member of the Rochester City Council, is seeking his second term. Before being elected, he worked with the City Council to pass a Human Rights ordinance to ban discrimination based on sexual orientation. In addition, Mr. Pritchard led the community coalition that successfully advocated for a domestic partnership registry as well as domestic partner benefits for city employees. In response to our questionnaire, he said, "I would also hope that Rochester GLBT voters choose to support my candidacy because of the many other issues that I have been championing over the past two years since being appointed to the City Council."

Rochester City Council, At Large Position Democratic Primary - Peter Buckley (Open seat)

Peter Buckley is an active volunteer in the Rochester community and is seeking one of four open at-large seats in the Rochester City Council. In response to our questionnaire, he said, "Members of the LGBT community should support my candidacy because I have conducted my life with, and continue to teach my children, the values of tolerance, love, compassion and respect for all people."

Rochester City Council, At Large Position Democratic Primary Carolee Conklin (Open seat)

Carolee Conklin, the City Clerk of Rochester, is seeking one of four open at-large seats in the Rochester City Council. Ms. Conklin has attended and spoken at rallies and events in support of our community. In response to our candidate questionnaire, she stated, "I have been a strong supporter of LGBT rights for over 20 years and will continue to [be]."

Rochester City Council, At Large Position Democratic Primary - Saul Maneiro (Open seat)Saul Maneiro is seeking one of four open at-large seats in the Rochester City Council. As a member of the staff of former State Senator Richard Dollinger, Mr. Maneiro actively worked for and promoted the passage of the Sexual Orientation Non-Discrimination Act (SONDA). He has said, "I believe that the LGBT community continues to encounter unfair legal discrimination and I will work to end policies that deny equal rights and responsibilities to anyone."

Rochester City Council, At Large Position Democratic Primary - Dana Miller (Open seat)

Dana Miller, a Manager at Xerox Corporation, is seeking one of four open at-large seats in the Rochester City Council. In response to our candidate questionnaire, Mr. Miller said, "As an African American man, I live in Rochester's most diverse neighborhood and value the diversity found in my 'Urban-by-Choice' neighborhood." Mr. Miller said he would continue to be highly visible at LGBT events, and will "sponsor legislation that would advance the agenda of the LGBT community."
